Cher to Perform at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Event to Start Half an Hour Earlier This Year

Cher to close out parade right before Santa's arrival, perform alongside other artists like Brandy and Jon Batiste; Parade to feature seven new balloon characters and four new floats.

  • Pop icon Cher, along with numerous other artists including Brandy, Jon Batiste and Katharine McPhee, will be performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Cher's set will mark the end of the Parade, right before Santa's arrival.
  • The parade, set to air on NBC and streaming service Peacock, will begin a half-hour earlier than before, commencing at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 12 p.m. EDT on November 23.
  • This year's parade will feature seven new balloon characters and four new floats, for a total of 16 character balloons, 26 floats, 32 heritage and novelty balloons. Over 700 clowns, 1,200 dancers and cheerleaders, and nine performance groups are also expected to participate.
  • Cher's participation comes shortly after the release of her first-ever Christmas album 'Christmas' and coincides with the upcoming 25th anniversary re-release of her hit album 'Believe'. She might also perform a new holiday single to kick off the Christmas season at the parade.
  • The parade, marking its 97th edition, will begin at 77th Street and Central Park West, marching for 2.5 miles to 7th Avenue in front of Macy's in Herald Square. It was watched by 27.7 million people in 2022.
