Chicago Bulls Championship Banners Removed After Disturbed Concert Damage

Pyrotechnics during the heavy metal band's United Center performance caused heat damage to the banners, which will remain absent for the rest of the NBA season.

The six championship banners commemorating the Bulls' 1990s NBA titles were damaged during a Disturbed concert at Chicago's United Center last Saturday.
Pyrotechnics positioned beneath the banners caused heat damage, warping the bottom portions of the fabric.
United Center staff removed the banners ahead of Monday's Bulls home game and confirmed they will not return until next season after repairs are completed.
Other banners in the arena, including those for division and conference titles, as well as the Chicago Blackhawks, were unaffected by the incident.
Disturbed, a heavy metal band from Chicago, has not commented on the damage caused during their performance.
