Chicago Man Charged with Six Murders Committed as a Teen in 2020

Antonio Reyes, now 21, faces multiple murder and attempted murder charges for a nine-month spree of seemingly random shootings on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Antonio Reyes has been charged with six counts of first-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder for crimes committed in 2020 when he was 16 and 17 years old.
The victims, ranging in age from 16 to 31, were killed in separate incidents, including a man shot while buying a soda, another killed in a parked car, and a father gunned down in front of his three young children.
Reyes has been in custody since 2021 for a separate murder charge and is accused of attempting to kill his cellmate and harassing a jail guard while incarcerated.
Chicago police linked Reyes to the murders through ballistic evidence from a recovered handgun and his activity on social media.
Authorities describe the killings as random, with no evidence connecting Reyes to the victims, and are continuing to investigate his possible involvement in additional cases.
