Chiefs Retain McKinnon, Decline Option on Edwards-Helaire

The Chiefs re-signed running back Jerick McKinnon to a one-year contract and declined the fifth-year option on Clyde Edwards-Helaire's contract.
McKinnon had 56 receptions, 512 receiving yards, and 9 receiving touchdowns for the Chiefs in 2022.
Edwards-Helaire has struggled with injuries in his three NFL seasons and lost his starting role last year.
McKinnon has played for the Chiefs for two seasons and has 2,590 rushing yards, 1,856 receiving yards, and 29 total touchdowns in his career.
McKinnon likely will continue as a change-of-pace back for the Chiefs as they pursue another Super Bowl championship.
