China to Send Two Giant Pandas to Washington's National Zoo

The Smithsonian's National Zoo will welcome Bao Li and Qing Bao as part of a renewed 10-year conservation partnership.

Bao Li and Qing Bao, both two-year-olds, will arrive by the end of the year.
The pandas' arrival follows the return of three pandas to China last fall amid strained US-China relations.
The new agreement extends the panda conservation partnership through 2034.
The pandas will undergo a 30-day quarantine before their public debut.
The National Zoo will pay $1 million annually to support panda research and conservation in China.
