China Unveils World's Largest Floating Wind Turbine Platform

Mingyang Smart Energy's OceanX can generate power during Category 5 hurricanes, promising a new era in offshore wind energy.

The OceanX platform features two 8.3-megawatt turbines in a V-shaped configuration, producing a combined 16.6 megawatts of power.
Built to withstand winds up to 161 mph and waves as high as 98 feet, the platform ensures stability in extreme conditions.
The turbine blades have a diameter of 597 feet and are mounted on a Y-shaped floating structure for maximum efficiency.
Capable of generating 54 million kWh annually, the platform can power 30,000 households.
This innovation aligns with China's goal to source a third of its power from renewables by 2025.
