A Chinese firm, Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology, has bought the technology for the AirCar, a BMW-powered flying car that can reach 8,200 feet and fly about 600 miles.
The AirCar, designed by Slovakian company Klein Vision, transforms from a road-legal vehicle to an aircraft in under three minutes.
Hebei Jianxin has acquired exclusive manufacturing and distribution rights within a specific geographical region, aiming to redefine transportation standards in China.
The deal's financial terms were undisclosed, but the AirCar prototype development reportedly cost $2.3 million.
The AirCar requires a runway for takeoff and landing, distinguishing it from drone-taxis, and can carry two people with a combined weight of about 430 pounds.
