The restaurant chain discovered the video online four days later and confirmed the location of the incident on March 6, 2025.
Haidilao has announced compensation for 4,109 customers who dined at the affected branch between February 24 and March 8, offering full refunds and ten times the bill amount as restitution.
The company has taken extensive sanitation measures at the Shanghai location, including cleaning all utensils and hot pots used during the affected period.
Legal action has been initiated against the two teenagers, who face potential prosecution for their actions.
