A 25-year-old in Chongqing lost her job and year-end bonus after her pet cat inadvertently sent a resignation email she had hesitated to dispatch.

The incident occurred on January 5, 2025, when the woman’s cat jumped onto her desk and pressed 'send' on a drafted resignation email.
The resignation email had been prepared but not intended to be sent as the woman needed the job to support her nine cats.
CCTV footage in her home captured the moment the cat accidentally sent the email, which the woman later shared on social media.
Despite her efforts to explain the unusual situation to her boss, her explanation was ignored, and she lost her job and year-end bonus.
The woman, who had planned to look for a new job after the upcoming Spring Festival on January 29, is now seeking new employment.
