Allen will miss at least two weeks and will be re-evaluated after rehabilitation and treatment.
The injury was confirmed by an MRI at the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health facility.
Allen forms one of the NBA's best defensive frontcourts with Evan Mobley.
If Allen does not recover in time, other players like Damian Jones may see more playing time.
