Climate Activists Snarl Berlin Traffic to Urge Faster Action

German climate activists blocked roads across Berlin to pressure the government to take more drastic climate action.
The group Last Generation wants Germany to stop using all fossil fuels by 2030 and impose highway speed limits to cut emissions.
Up to 500 police officers were deployed to try to prevent or end the blockades.
The activists glued themselves to streets and planned to march slowly through the city.
They have repeatedly disrupted traffic across Germany over the past year to highlight the urgency of the climate crisis.
