Colombian Man Arrested for Smuggling Cocaine Under Wig at Cartagena Airport

Authorities discovered 220 grams of cocaine worth €10,000 concealed in a toupee as the suspect attempted to board a flight to Amsterdam.

The 40-year-old suspect from Pereira was caught at Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena during a security scan and body search.
Police found 19 capsules containing 220 grams of cocaine valued at €10,000 ($10,500 USD) hidden beneath his wig.
The suspect, who has two prior drug trafficking convictions, was charged with trafficking, manufacturing, and carrying narcotic substances.
Colombian authorities have made over 450 drug trafficking arrests and seized more than 115 kilograms of narcotics in 2025 so far.
