Colorado, California, and Delaware Set to Complete November SNAP Payments, Benefitting Millions of Residents

Payments of up to $1,751 in Colorado and California, and $1,691 in Delaware, set to benefit around 9% of Colorado's population, near 13% of California's populace, and numerous households in Delaware; based on household size and income levels, to be distributed by the 10th in Colorado and California, and the 24th in Delaware.

  • Colorado, California, and Delaware are set to complete their November SNAP payments. In Colorado and California, households could receive up to $1,751 depending on size and income levels, while in Delaware, the maximum payment is up to $1,691.
  • In Colorado, the distribution of payments is based on the last digit of a household's Social Security number, with households set to collect payments by the 10th of the month. California's SNAP program, known as CalFresh, also ends distribution by the 10th, based on the recipient's case number.
  • Receipt of SNAP benefits in California is contingent upon meeting income level thresholds, with most households at or below 130% of the federal poverty level qualifying for SNAP. In Delaware, to qualify, a household's income cannot exceed double the federal poverty level.
  • The payments are loaded on prepaid electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards. The Colorado Quest Card in Colorado, and the Delaware Food First card in Delaware function like debit cards and can be used at participating stores to buy eligible items. In California, SNAP payments are issued on an EBT card, with information available at the government portal or by calling 1-877-847-3663.
  • The SNAP benefits are intended for purchasing groceries, snacks, fresh food, seeds, and plants, but cannot be used to buy nonfood household items, tobacco products, alcohol, pet food, or luxurious items.
