Colorado Funeral Home Owners to Face Court Over 190 Decomposing Bodies

Jon and Carie Hallford, owners of the Return to Nature Funeral Home in Colorado, are set to appear in court facing charges of corpse abuse, theft, money laundering, and forgery.
The charges come after the discovery of 190 decomposing bodies at their funeral home facility in Penrose, some with death dates as far back as 2019.
Family members were falsely told their loved ones were cremated and received materials that were not their ashes.
The Hallfords were arrested in Oklahoma last month, after allegedly fleeing Colorado to avoid prosecution. They have been jailed on a $2 million bond.
After the bodies were removed, authorities began working to identify the remains using fingerprints, dental records, medical hardware, and DNA.
