Darris Nichols Named La Salle's New Head Basketball Coach

Darris Nichols, 38, has been announced as La Salle University's 21st head men's basketball coach, succeeding retiring coach Fran Dunphy.
Nichols previously served as head coach at Radford University, where he achieved two 20-win seasons and an overall record of 68-63 in four years.
A former standout player at West Virginia, Nichols brings extensive coaching experience from assistant roles at Florida, Louisiana Tech, Wofford, and Northern Kentucky.
Nichols' coaching philosophy emphasizes team chemistry and the holistic development of student-athletes, aligning with La Salle's aspirations for its basketball program.
La Salle has not had a winning season since 2015, presenting Nichols with the challenge of revitalizing the program in a competitive Atlantic 10 conference.
