McDermott reveals suicide attempt and current sobriety, hasn't seen children since June

Dean McDermott, estranged husband of Tori Spelling, has spoken out about his battle with substance abuse and the breakdown of their marriage, revealing that he hasn't seen Spelling or their five children since June.
McDermott admitted that his alcohol and prescription drug abuse led to the end of his 18-year marriage, and that his behavior left his family 'petrified'.
He also revealed that he attempted suicide by taking 'six or seven' sleeping pills after a particularly nasty fight with Spelling, and that he posted about their separation on Instagram while under the influence.
McDermott has since completed a 40-day stint in rehab and is now living in a sober living home with eight other men.
Both McDermott and Spelling have begun new relationships since their separation.
