Around 40 others were injured in the crash, which involved a BEST electric bus colliding with multiple vehicles.
The Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Department has initiated the process to revoke driver Sanjay More's license after a request from Mumbai police due to the gravity of the incident.
More, employed by a third-party agency, had been driving electric buses for only a short period before the accident occurred.
Once his license is revoked, More will be permanently barred from driving any vehicle, according to transport officials.
