Delhi Police Arrest Accountant for ₹35 Lakh Office Theft and Two Bike-Borne Robbers

A West District operation in Azamgarh led to the recovery of ₹34.98 lakh from Vivek Raj’s hotel room.

Overview

  • Vivek Raj, a 23-year-old accountant at Dynamic Forge Company, allegedly stole ₹35 lakh from a locked office almirah on May 24 and was the only person on site during the theft.
  • Under SHO Varun Dalal’s supervision, a Moti Nagar team conducted raids across Gurugram, Noida and Azamgarh, checking over 40 hotels to trace the suspect.
  • On May 21 and 22, Rameshwer Mathur alias Ramu and Vijay Singh robbed a collection agent of ₹90,000 near East Azad Nagar Metro Station and later intercepted another individual in Jhilmil Industrial Area for ₹3.34 lakh.
  • Mathur confessed to spending ₹80,000 of his ₹3.3 lakh haul at a nightclub and revealed a prior murder charge in Ghaziabad from 2020.
  • Police recovered the victims’ abandoned scooter and documents in Dilshad Garden before arresting Vijay Singh on May 27 following CCTV analysis.
