Delhi University Celebrates 101st Convocation with Over 166,000 Degrees Awarded

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged Delhi University students to pledge to transform Delhi into a global knowledge hub during the 101st convocation ceremony.
A total of 166,494 students received degrees, including 623 PhD recipients, with awards presented both digitally and in-person.
Pradhan highlighted DU's legacy, noting its diverse student body of approximately 700,000 from 85 countries and its status as a 'miniature India.'
The minister praised DU for pioneering the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and emphasized its role in achieving India's development goals by 2047.
Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh encouraged students to balance personal ambitions with national interests and announced plans for DU's expansion with new eastern and western campuses.
