Democratic Party Faces Trust and Branding Crisis in Battleground Districts

Internal polling reveals voters see Democrats as out of touch, elitist, and lacking focus on working-class priorities.

A poll by Democratic group Navigator Research shows 69% of voters in battleground districts believe Democrats are overly focused on political correctness rather than real issues.
Only 39% of voters feel Democrats have the right priorities, with 56% saying the party does not prioritize working-class people.
Among independent voters, just 27% think Democrats are focused on helping people like them, while 55% say the party prioritizes others.
Republicans hold a 5-point advantage over Democrats on trust to handle the economy and a 7-point lead on responding to inflation, according to the survey.
House Democrats are set to address these concerns at an upcoming Issues Conference as they prepare for the 2026 midterm elections.
