Deported Four Times, Man Charged in Fatal DUI Crash

Jose Menjivar, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, has been charged with vehicular homicide after a DUI crash that resulted in the deaths of a Colorado mother and her teenage son.
Menjivar has a history of alcohol-related driving offenses and was sentenced for a previous offense just four days before the fatal accident.
Despite being deported from the U.S. four times, Menjivar continued to re-enter the country.
Menjivar's bond has been set at $250,000 cash only, with the judge citing community safety concerns and doubts about his ability to appear for future court dates.
Prior to the fatal crash, Menjivar was waiting for a jail bed for another alcohol-related driving conviction.
