  • Deutsche Telekom has officially acquired exclusive live broadcast rights for all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • The company also secured rights to the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil and the men’s U20 World Cups in 2025 and 2027.
  • German broadcasting law mandates that matches involving the national team, as well as the opening game, semifinals, and final, must be shown on free-to-air television.
  • Deutsche Telekom plans to negotiate sublicensing agreements to comply with these regulations, following its experience sublicensing UEFA Euro 2024 matches to ARD, ZDF, and RTL.
  • The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature a record-breaking 48 teams and is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19.
