Dodgers in Serious Talks to Acquire Tyler Glasnow and Manuel Margot from Rays

Potential trade follows Dodgers' historic $700-million signing of Shohei Ohtani

The Dodgers are in serious talks with the Tampa Bay Rays to acquire starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot. In exchange, the Dodgers would send Ryan Pepiot and Jonny DeLuca to Tampa Bay.
Glasnow, a Southern California native, has been seen as one of the game's most talented arms but has a track record of injuries. Despite this, he had a successful 2023 season, going 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA in 21 starts.
Margot, an eight-year veteran, is known more for his glove than his bat. He is in line for a $10-million salary next year.
Pepiot, once a highly-touted pitching prospect, has a 2.76 ERA in 43 major league appearances. DeLuca, a young outfielder, hit .262 with two home runs in 42 at-bats last season.
The potential trade comes after the Dodgers' historic $700-million signing of two-way star Shohei Ohtani. The deal is not yet believed to be imminent and could be modified before being completed.
