Ducks fire coach Dallas Eakins after fifth consecutive losing season

The Anaheim Ducks finished last in the NHL with a 23-47-12 record.
Eakins had a 100-147-44 record in four seasons as Ducks coach.
The Ducks have not made the playoffs since 2017 and have a 25.5% chance of winning the draft lottery.
General manager Pat Verbeek decided not to renew Eakins' contract in order to find a new voice for the rebuilding team.
The Ducks are focused on developing their young players but struggled mightily in Eakins' final season.
