Dutch museums return hundreds of looted artifacts to former colonies Indonesia and Sri Lanka

Two Dutch museums are returning 478 cultural artifacts to Indonesia and Sri Lanka that were taken during the colonial era.
Western nations like the Netherlands are returning stolen artifacts to reckon with their colonial histories.
An advisory commission recommended the Netherlands return the artifacts, including the Lombok Treasure and the Cannon of Kandy.
The returns follow the Dutch king's apology for the sufferings of people under slavery and colonialism.
Other European countries have also started returning stolen artifacts to their former colonies.
