Ed Sheeran Announces Completion of New Album and Return to 'Big Pop'

The singer-songwriter teases a stylistic shift and plans for music videos as he continues his global tour.

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that his upcoming, as-yet-untitled album is finished and marks a return to his 'big pop' sound after more subdued recent releases.
The album follows Sheeran's 2023 records 'Subtract' and 'Autumn Variations,' both of which featured a more introspective tone and were produced by Aaron Dessner of The National.
Sheeran has already completed two music videos for the project and plans to film two more in early 2025 while continuing his Mathematics tour in Asia and the Middle East.
The Mathematics tour, which began in 2022, was the seventh-highest grossing tour of 2023, earning over $268 million across 54 shows.
Sheeran also recently released a melancholic Christmas song, 'Under the Tree,' for Richard Curtis' animated Netflix film 'That Christmas,' marking his first foray into 'sad' holiday music.
