Emergency Alert Issued for Armed Robbery Suspects West of Edmonton

Residents in Mayerthorpe and surrounding areas cautioned against approaching two dangerous men on the run.

RCMP has issued a 'dangerous person alert' for Mayerthorpe and Lac Ste. Anne County following a robbery.
The suspects are described as two armed men, one approximately 30 years old and the other around 220 pounds.
Local schools, including Elmer Elson Elementary and Mayerthorpe High School, have implemented hold-and-secure protocols.
Residents are advised not to open doors to strangers or pick up hitchhikers, and to report any sightings to 911.
Several area businesses have temporarily closed as a precaution due to the alert.
