Emmy-Winning Filmmaker Ross McDonnell Found Dead on NYC Beach

Police suspect the 44-year-old drowned during a night swim, with the official cause of death yet to be determined.

Emmy-winning Irish filmmaker Ross McDonnell, 44, was confirmed dead by his family after his body was found on a New York City beach.
McDonnell, known for his cinematography on Showtime’s series 'The Trade', disappeared on Nov. 4 and his bicycle was found at the beach on Nov. 7.
A torso believed to belong to McDonnell was found at a Queens beach on Nov. 17.
Police suspect McDonnell drowned while swimming at night, a hobby he was known to enjoy, and his body was dismembered by the ocean.
The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, with no foul play or suicide currently suspected.
