Empower Brands Recalls 319,000 Air Fryers Due to Burn Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports 41 instances of the product breaking during use, including three burn cases.

Empower Brands has recalled its PowerXL DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers due to a burn hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that about 319,000 units were recalled after the plastic connector used to connect its two food baskets can break during use.
There have been 41 reports of the air fryers breaking during use, including three burn cases.
The units were sold in black and cinnamon colors between August 2021 and October 2023 in popular retail stores such as Target, Walmart, and Kohl's, and their websites, priced between $60 and $190 (depending on the model).
Consumers are asked to stop using the air fryers and to contact Empower Brands for a full refund.
