Ex-Catholic Priest Pleads Guilty to Raping and Drugging Over a Dozen Men

Stephen Sauer, a former New Orleans priest, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting and drugging over a dozen men over a period of years.
Sauer targeted vulnerable men in New Orleans' French Quarter, drugging them with sedatives like Zolpidem before assaulting and filming them.
Sauer pleaded guilty to 13 counts of sexual battery, nine counts of third-degree rape, 17 counts of video voyeurism, and 16 misdemeanor charges of drug possession.
Investigators believe there are at least 50 more victims in addition to the 13 men Sauer was charged for assaulting.
The Catholic Church has faced widespread criticism for covering up clerical sex abuse for decades.
