Patel's attorney, Alex King, stated that Patel did not use the stolen money to fund a luxurious lifestyle, but rather to pay back previous gambling losses.
Patel is expected to plead guilty to charges of wire fraud and illegal monetary transaction in a Jacksonville Federal Court.
