Extinction Rebellion Co-Founder Receives Suspended Sentence for Criminal Damage

Gail Bradbrook could face jail time if she commits another crime in the next 15 months, while actor Jerome Flynn shows support in court.

Gail Bradbrook, co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, has been handed a 15-month suspended jail sentence after being convicted of causing over £27,500 of damage to the Department for Transport.
Bradbrook used tools to break a large pane of reinforced security glass at the Department for Transport during a protest in October 2019.
Judge Martin Edmunds stated that while Bradbrook had a conscientious motive, it did not excuse her actions. He also noted that Bradbrook had actively sought prosecution to attract publicity.
Bradbrook, who has been a law-abiding citizen apart from her protest activities, could face jail time if she commits another crime in the next 15 months.
Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn was present at court to support Bradbrook, who has also been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
