Family of Bullied Teen Adriana Kuch Sues New Jersey School Officials

Lawsuit alleges negligence and defamation, claims school officials failed to address 'culture of violence' leading to Adriana's suicide.

Adriana Kuch, a 14-year-old student at Central Regional High School in Berkeley Township, New Jersey, died by suicide in February 2023, days after a video of her being physically attacked by classmates was posted on social media.
Adriana's family has filed a lawsuit against the Central Regional Board of Education, the school district's former superintendent, the school principal, an anti-bullying specialist, and other school officials, alleging negligence, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress.
The lawsuit claims that the school officials were aware of a 'culture of violence' at the school and failed to protect Adriana from the bullying she experienced.
The former superintendent, Triantafillos Parlapanides, is also accused of making false and defamatory remarks about Adriana's family following her death, which led to his resignation.
Four students were criminally charged in connection with the attack on Adriana.
