FBI Continues Search for Jan 6 Pipe Bomb Suspect Three Years On

The suspect, seen on surveillance footage, remains at large despite a $500,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

  • Three years after the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot, the FBI is still seeking the suspect who planted pipe bombs near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee.
  • The pipe bombs, which had an hour-long kitchen timer as a detonator, were viable but did not detonate and no one was hurt.
  • The FBI is offering a $500,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
  • The suspect was seen on surveillance footage wearing a face mask, glasses, gloves, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and black and light grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo, and carrying a backpack.
  • More than 1,200 people have been arrested and charged with crimes from misdemeanor trespassing to felony assault on a police officer and seditious conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack.
