FBI Seeks Public's Help to Locate Kidnapped Child and Mother in Mexico

Brigette Benitez is wanted for international parental kidnapping after allegedly fleeing to Mexico with her son, who was in foster care.

The FBI is seeking public assistance to locate Brigette Benitez, 31, and her 16-month-old son, Miguel Eduardo Zuniga Medina Jr., after she allegedly kidnapped him and crossed into Mexico.
Benitez, charged with international parental kidnapping, does not have custody of her son, who was placed in foster care by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
The child's non-custodial father, Miguel Eduardo Zuniga Medina Sr., suspected of domestic violence, is believed to be living in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
A federal arrest warrant for Benitez was issued following the filing of a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
Multiple agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, are assisting the FBI in the search for Benitez and her son.
