The FCC is investigating Amazon and other retailers for allegedly marketing and selling illegal signal jammers.
Signal jammers can disrupt emergency communications, block 911 calls, and interfere with various other communication systems.
The investigation was prompted by a report which found nine China-based Amazon sellers offering such devices.
Amazon has not commented on the ongoing investigation.
Signal jamming devices are illegal in the US, with no exemptions for use within businesses, classrooms, residences, or vehicles.
