Fire at Mumbai High-Rise Housing Singer Shaan Prompts Rescue of 13 Residents

A late-night blaze in Bandra's Fortune Enclave left an 80-year-old woman hospitalized and exposed non-functional fire safety systems in the building.

The fire broke out early Tuesday in an apartment on the seventh floor of the Fortune Enclave building in Bandra, Mumbai.
Singer Shaan and his family, residing on the 11th floor, were safely rescued after taking refuge on the 15th floor due to heavy smoke.
Firefighters evacuated 13 individuals, including nine residents from the 15th floor and others from the second and eighth floors.
An 80-year-old woman was found unconscious during the rescue and is now in stable condition after being hospitalized.
Authorities identified a faulty electrical system as the likely cause and will issue a notice to the building for non-compliance with fire safety regulations.
