Fire at North Macedonian Nightclub Kills 51 During Concert

Pyrotechnics ignited a blaze in an overcrowded nightclub in Kočani, leaving 51 dead and over 100 injured as emergency services struggled to respond.

The fire broke out around 2:30 AM during a concert by the popular band DNK at the Pulse nightclub in Kočani, North Macedonia.
The blaze was reportedly caused by pyrotechnics that ignited the nightclub's flammable ceiling materials.
Approximately 1,500 attendees, mostly young people, were in the overcrowded venue at the time of the incident.
Local hospitals were overwhelmed by the large number of injuries, with many victims transported to facilities in nearby cities and the capital, Skopje.
Authorities have detained several individuals, including event organizers, as investigations into safety violations and accountability continue.
