Fire at Sonnewalde Auto Workshop Extinguished After Major Response

Around 100 firefighters worked to control the blaze, which caused significant damage but resulted in no injuries.

A fire broke out early Monday morning at an auto workshop in Sonnewalde, located in the Elbe-Elster district of Brandenburg.
The blaze, which engulfed the entire workshop, was brought under control and fully extinguished by 8:00 AM local time.
Approximately 100 firefighters were deployed to the scene, with efforts complicated by the presence of numerous flammable materials, including tires stored in the building.
No injuries were reported, and the building structure remains intact, though authorities are assessing potential risks of collapse.
An earlier warning for residents to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke has been lifted, and there is no longer any smoke in the area.
