Fire Erupts at Hilton Surfers Paradise, Guests Safely Evacuated

A fire broke out at the Hilton Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast early Friday morning, prompting the evacuation of over 100 guests.
The flames appeared to originate near the large 'H' sign on the exterior of the building, with witnesses reporting a fiery explosion around 2 a.m.
Queensland Fire Department crews extinguished the fire within an hour, and guests were allowed to return to the hotel by 5:30 a.m.
The incident comes shortly before the anticipated closure of the Hilton Brisbane, which will be taken over by a new luxury operator this month.
No injuries were reported in the fire, and the cause of the blaze has not yet been disclosed.
