Five Dead, Including Child, in Fiery Three-Vehicle Crash on St. Helena Island

A BMW attempting to pass a Toyota collided head-on with a Honda, resulting in a fire that claimed five lives.

The crash occurred on the Sea Island Parkway near Polowana Road around 10:30 p.m.
All four occupants of the BMW and the lone driver of the Honda died at the scene.
The BMW overturned and caught fire after the head-on collision with the Honda.
The Toyota driver was uninjured despite the vehicle striking the BMW post-collision.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
