Five Injured in Amsterdam Stabbing Attack Near Dam Square

The stabbing attack occurred near Sint Nicolaasstraat, close to Dam Square, at approximately 3:30 PM local time on March 27, 2025.
Five victims, including two Americans, a Belgian woman, a Polish man, and a Dutch woman, were hospitalized, with four sustaining serious injuries.
A bystander intervened to stop the suspect, who was later arrested and taken to a hospital with a leg injury.
Authorities have not yet established a motive for the attack and are considering the possibility of random targeting.
