Florida Governor DeSantis Sends Drones, Weapons, and Ammunition to Israel Amid 2024 Presidential Campaign

Support Includes Healthcare Supplies and Drones in Addition to Weapons and Ammunition; State Acts on Request from Israel's Miami Consulate-General Amid Ongoing Conflict with Hamas.

Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, has arranged to send drones, weapons, and ammunition to help Israel in its ongoing conflict with Hamas ahead of the 2024 GOP presidential primary.
In addition to weapons and drones, Florida has sent cargo planes with healthcare supplies, body armor, and helmets. The state has also worked with private groups to supply these items, as per Israel's consul general in Miami's request.
Florida has completed four rescue flights, bringing nearly 700 Americans home from Israel. Two cargo planes carrying 85 pallets of donated supplies have also arrived in Israel.
DeSantis, a 2024 GOP presidential hopeful, supports Israel and has accused President Joe Biden of not doing enough to assist the Israelis in the conflict.
The inclusion of such military support by DeSantis, who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, is seen as a way to highlight his pro-Israel stance and could potentially boost his standing in the GOP primary race.
