Florida Teen Killed and Dismembered After Being Lured via Social Media
Police say 16-year-old Miranda Corsette was kidnapped and killed by a man and his partner after meeting through a social media app.
- Miranda Corsette, 16, was reported missing on February 24 after meeting Steven Gress, 35, through a social media app.
- Corsette visited Gress' home in St. Petersburg, Florida, on February 14 and returned the following day, remaining there until her death.
- Police believe Corsette was beaten during a dispute on February 20 and killed sometime between February 20 and February 24.
- Investigators allege Gress dismembered Corsette's body at a home in Largo and disposed of it in a Hillsborough County dumpster, where police are still searching for her remains.
- Gress and his partner, Michelle Brandes, 37, face charges including kidnapping and first-degree murder; Brandes turned herself in to police on Saturday.
