Fntastic Studio Closes Following Failure of The Day Before

Former developer reveals game was never intended to be an MMO, contradicting marketing claims.

  • The Day Before, a highly anticipated game developed by Fntastic, was a major failure, leading to the studio's closure after 46% of players requested refunds within two hours of early access.
  • Fntastic, which has now changed its name to Eight Points, had released four other games apart from The Day Before, including The Wild Eight, Dead Dozen, Radiant One, and Propnight.
  • Despite the studio's closure, the servers for The Day Before will remain online, but the game will no longer receive updates and has been delisted from the Steam Store.
  • A former Fntastic developer revealed that The Day Before was never intended to be an MMO, contradicting the game's marketing, and that the studio's founders made all gameplay and design decisions, often disregarding team input.
  • Financial reports suggest that Fntastic sold around 200,000 copies of The Day Before on Steam, with more than 90,000 being refunded.
