Ford Motor Company is reportedly recalling more than 273,000 vehicles due to a potential loss of front brake function, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Overview

  • The recall impacts 223,315 Ford Expeditions and 50,474 Lincoln Navigators from model years 2022 to 2024.
  • Ford identified the defect as a result of front brake lines contacting the engine air cleaner outlet pipe, potentially causing brake fluid leaks.
  • The issue stems from a November 2024 assembly process change at the Kentucky Truck Plant, which led to potential misalignment of brake lines.
  • As of mid-April, Ford had logged 45 warranty reports related to the defect but reported no accidents or injuries.
  • Owner notification letters will be mailed between May 26 and May 30, 2025, with dealers instructed to perform free inspections and repairs immediately.
