Overview

  • The recall covers 1,075,299 Ford and Lincoln models from 2021 to 2025, including the Bronco, F-150, Edge, Escape, Corsair, Mustang Mach-E, select F-Series trucks, Transit vans and Lincoln SUVs.
  • Federal regulators say a software error in the dashboard accessory protocol interface module can freeze, delay or disable the rearview camera display, increasing crash risk.
  • Dealers will deploy a no-cost over-the-air update to the APIM software to restore camera functionality.
  • Ford will begin mailing recall notices on June 16 and issue a follow-up alert once the Q3 update is available.
  • This action follows a separate May recall of nearly 274,000 SUVs for a brake-line defect and comes as Ford withdraws its 2025 earnings guidance and warns of $5.5 billion in EV and software losses.
