Former Dallas Cowboys running back Walt Garrison dies at 79

Walt Garrison played nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, retiring in 1974 as one of their top rushers and receivers.
Garrison was passionate about rodeo and competed as a steer wrestler during NFL offseasons until suffering a career-ending knee injury in 1975.
He helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl VI in 1972 and was selected to the Pro Bowl that same year.
Garrison was inducted into several halls of fame, including the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
His death at age 79 was announced in October 2023 after a successful career in both football and rodeo.
