Former High School Teacher Sentenced to 10 Years for Attempted Child Exploitation

Sean Stevenson, 59, was caught in a sting operation after attempting to pay for sex with a minor he believed to be 16 years old.

Stevenson was arrested in October 2023 after arriving at a pre-arranged meeting with an undercover officer posing as a pimp.
He pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor and was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.
The investigation began with the arrest of a pimp and a prostitute, leading to the discovery of incriminating text messages from Stevenson.
Stevenson expressed remorse in court and agreed to participate in sex offender treatment programs.
Following his release, Stevenson will be on supervised release for 15 years and must register as a sex offender.
