Former MLB Scouts Sue League, Teams for Age Discrimination

A group of ex-Major League Baseball scouts are suing MLB, commissioner Rob Manfred, and all 30 teams for discrimination based on age.
The lawsuit alleges that MLB blacklisted older scouts and used COVID-19 and analytics as an excuse to discriminate by age.
The plaintiffs are seeking at least $100 million in lost wages and damages in a class-action suit.
The suit claims MLB stopped posting job openings for scouts, listed older scouts as undesirable hires, and used the pandemic to fire older employees without cause.
Several of the former scouts are now in dire financial straits, without severance, health insurance or income, and are losing their homes.
